Beyond Cross-Functional: How Diversity & Inclusion Elevate Quality
This session will explore how enabling everyone to bring their perspectives and backgrounds forward can drive exceptional quality across the SDLC.
Diversity and inclusion have always been a must for me; as a woman in tech who is
#madeByDyslexia, I come with diversity no matter my team.
Testers and Quality Folk are pivotal in fostering a culture of inclusion, as their focus on quality uniquely positions them to advocate for diversity of thought. We will discuss practical strategies for creating psychologically safe environments within different spheres of influence where all voices are equal, allowing for ideas to build on top of each other and lead to innovation in people, process and product quality.
Key topics will include:
- Actionable steps for building an inclusive space within cross-functional teams, drawing from real-life examples.
- Techniques for transparent and non-violent communication that promote collaboration.
- Believe in yourself to go forth and enable teams to mature rapidly to enhance quality and make testing processes more efficient.

Lauren works as an Engineering Manager with a background in Quality Coaching. Her people first, organic quality approach has helped scale engineering teams across the globe ranging from unicorn start-ups to FTSE 250 companies. Lauren holds curiosity in her heart and is a passionate supporter of changing the narrative around dyslexia.
