Dice Dice Baby! Critical fails & Quality tales

Willem Keesman & Hugo van Heuveln

Welcome adventurers, to the wonderful realm of Corporatia. Where marketing dragons fly high, and sales goblins roam everywhere. Where final bosses often are actively blocking quality. Your brave group of test specialists will ascend into the maws of madness (the office) to assure quality won’t fade away into oblivion.

On this noble quest you will slay the corporate monsters by using your skills and weapons, but beware! Scope creep lurks around every corner and changing deadlines are a constant dark presence. Battle pull requests, overhead meetings, endless refinements and retrospectives that could have been forged in the pits of hellfire.

Your team of testers will fight (or talk…) its way through the layers of hierarchy and bureaucracy and face the final challenge; the CEO. If you convince the CEO of the importance of software quality, your quest has been successful.

Join us in an interactive scrum/corporate themed Dungeons and Dragons session where you will learn the values and skills of the different test roles to ensure that quality will prevail!

About the Speakers

Willem Keesman – Practice Lead at Soprasteria Netherlands

Willem is an enthusiastic practice lead at Sopra Steria and brings 12 years of testing experience to the table. He has worked in several domains varying from government to fintech. Besides being active in the field, he loves to connect with fellow testers at congresses.

Willem was nominated for the EuroSTAR rising star award in ’24 and ’25. He has won an AutomationSTAR community award for best deep dive in ’24 and is active as part of the programme committee for EuroSTAR ’26. In his free time Willem loves board games, D&D, nature, theme parks, and movies.

Hugo van Heuveln – Test Consultant at Soprasteria Netherlands

Hugo studied UX design but decided to move into software testing, as he found that UX often stays on a conceptual level instead of actually building and delivering change. He now works at a government institution through Sopra Steria, where he has grown into the role of test lead despite having only two years of experience.

Hugo enjoys sharing knowledge and has a real passion for presenting and connecting with others. Outside of work, he loves spending time at the gym and playing both board and video games.”
