A Test Odyssey: Exploring Intelligent Agents in End-to-End Testing

Dan Billing

Step into the future of testing. This hands-on workshop introduces participants to the evolving landscape of end-to-end automation using Playwright and its ecosystem of intelligent agents. These agents—designed to plan, generate, and heal test- leverage Playwright MCP (Model Context Protocol) to interact with browser contexts in a structured, intelligent way. MCP enables agents to understand and manipulate browser sessions, making automation more adaptive, resilient, and context aware.

Whether you’re battling flaky tests or scaling across environments, this session equips you with the tools and mindset to build smarter, faster, and more reliable test suites.

Prerequisites

Access to a cloud-based AI agent e.g. Claude, CoPilot to assist with agentic development.

Familiarity with JavaScript/TypeScript

Basic understanding of Playwright or other E2E frameworks

Laptop with admin access, installed with VSCode, Node.js and Playwright (setup instructions provided pre-event)

Key Takeaways

How the Playwright MCP can assist with building robust, manageable and adaptive test frameworks.

How intelligent agents can automate test planning, generation, and healing.

Strategies for integrating agentic workflows into your existing test infrastructure.

Best practices for cloud-based execution and scaling with managed platforms.
